About me
Vivian Dimgba nee Emesaraonye is a former banker, gender historian, publicity/media consultant, and a frontline advocate for women’s political participation. She is a public speaker who uses her experiences to shed light on women’s issues, especially in the areas of gender inequality, women empowerment, and child rights.
In her last appointment, she was the head of publicity and media for Imo state waste management, a job she did with vim and dexterity because of her love for the environment, being an environmental activist herself.
She was responsible for coining the acronym “war against waste,” which led to many environmental interventions/evacuation within the Municipal and L.G.A.
A passionate, outspoken, driven and visionary leader
A passionate, outspoken, driven, and visionary leader, Vivian Emesaraonye Dimgba was born in Imo state, Mbaise Ezinihiite LGA, on Nov 21st, 1985, to the family of Mr and Mrs. Chima Emesaraonye. She attended Ovom Girls high school and Imo State University, where she obtained her BA in Education History. Due to her love and quest for knowledge, she pursued a Master's degree in History and International Relations. She's currently studying for her PhD in Women and Gender History. Her Experience cuts across the media industry, publicity, community service, having specialized in diverse areas at different levels of expertise in social, public, and community development. Her research work focused on contextualizing the role of women in politics and the contributory factors that have caused them to be underrepresented when they make up almost half the population.

Legislative Aide at national assembly
She has held leadership positions in different parastatals including as a Legislative Aide at the National Assembly and also as a finance director to the Tony Nwulu/ Obiariaeri Gubernatorial campaign.
A job she did with the utmost integrity and demonstrated excellent skills for organising. She was pivotal in creating a media trail, publicity relations, budgeting and scheduling, campaign coordination, political analysis/ Research, capacity building and general campaign management.
Intiniator for free butterfly
Vivian Dimgba is the initiator for free butterfly, a non-governmental agency that is geared toward teaching girls and boys sexual awareness, enabling them to grow into confident adults who make good sexual decisions, weighing all the risks involved, helping them gain confidence while reinforcing the subject of boundaries as they navigate this uncharted terrain.

Vivian Dimgba also understands the role women play in society and governance. She believes there has to be a fundamental shift in society’s view of women in politics. She considers them more than just seat fillers or praise singers and insists that women must be viewed as a vital contributing factor to the betterment of the world, and that can only be achieved when there is inclusion.
Her hobbies are reading, driving, making new friends, and spending time with family. People refer to her as “dependable.” She is strong with a will that doesn’t break easily.
